Beaches

The municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has an excellent 32 km coastline with magnificent long beaches of light sand (some of volcanic sand), beautiful rocky seabeds that are home to an enormous variety of marine life, and excellent climatic conditions. A paradise for water sports enthusiasts. The water on this calm coast has pleasantly warm temperatures between 18 and 25 °C all year round.

The beach of Playa del Inglés is about a 30-minute walk away, the beach of Maspalomas with its famous dunes and nature reserve about a 40-minute walk. Both have carried the Blue Flag since 1988, a quality mark that stands for cleanliness, safety and local environmental management.

You can find more information about the individual beaches at https://turismo.maspalomas.com

LGBTQ+

Gran Canaria is one of the top destinations for the LGBTQ+ community due to its good weather and cosmopolitanism. Numerous events like the Gay Pride in May, the carnival or newer events like the Fetish Week attract the community to the island again and again. Everyone can enjoy the open nature of island life and the diverse range of bars, clubs and, last but not least, the fantastic beach.

The Yumbo Centre with its numerous gay bars, cruising clubs etc. is about 15 minutes walk away.

The beach of Maspalomas with its famous dunes is about 40 minutes away on foot or easily accessible by bus. The gay meeting place Kiosk No. 5 and 6 (former No. 7) is also located here.
